Time to clear up the confusion between content writing and copywriting.

It’s easy to think they are the same. But they are very, very different.

The difference is in the intent of the writing.

Content is primarily to educate and inform.

Copy is to get people to take a specific action.

It’s not wise to hire a content writer to write copy. It’s a very different skill which few content writers possess. But it also advisable not to get your copywriter to write straight content.

Yes they can do it but it’s a waste of their skillset and you will pay more than you need to for the content.

I recommend every business has a great content writer if they can. I also recommend every business use a professional copywriter to create their critical marketing assets (website, social media profiles, ads, etc.).

Investing in great copy will pay for itself many times over.
