Why do movies keep us engaged?

Movies can teach us many valuable marketing lessons.

But there’s something the best movies do that mediocre ones don’t.

They have something at stake for the main character. The more we care about the main character and what’s at stake the more engaged we become in the movie.

When someone is thinking about buying from you a lot can be at stake. But it rarely gets addresses.

Failure to address it loses you a ton of sales.

After all if nothing is at stake why they should buy?

So it’s up to us, as marketers, to understand and highlight the stakes.

The person retains full control over whether they buy or not but at least they are aware of what buying means and more importantly what not buying means.
