The best marketing requires stripping.
Not that kind this is a PG platform?
I mean stripping away anything that isn’t essential.
A famous quote attributed to Michelangelo is “It is easy. You just chip away the stone that doesn’t look like David.”
This was describing how he created his famous statue.
Marketing is the same. We start with information overload. We then dig into that to find an insight and a big idea around which we can focus the marketing.
Then courage is required. We strip away anything that isn’t essential to get our core idea across. Few have the bravery to do this.
They want to say more about the product. More about the company. But clients don’t care about that.
They are drowning in a sea of marketing and just want an idea they can relate to and remember.
I guarantee your marketing contains things that impede your ability to get clients. So you need to start stripping away things that are not essential.
The sooner you start, the sooner your marketing transforms.
