2020 was tough year in business for many.

2021 isn’t much better. But there are some valuable lessons to be learnt from the last 18 months or so.

eCommerce is booming. Even more than it was before the pandemic. If you aren’t using the online marketing tools available your business will go the way of the dinosaurs.

People are burnt out and definitely over the pandemic. Last year many business effectively used to fear to sell almost anything that looked like safety.

Do that now and you will be ignored.

Now is the time to validate how people are feeling. Empathy is the critical marketing weapon you must have in your arsenal.

Traditional businesses are on life support. Anyone want to open a shop with a lease you have to pay during a pandemic even though you’re closed? F..k no.

You have to make your business antifragile. That means you can actually gain from adversity.

You also have to have diversify where your income comes from. Because more stuff will come and the fragile will fall.

Don’t be amongst them.

Also make sure you have some form of savings to fall back on. A years income is ideal.

Smart businesses haven’t just pivoted (are you as sick of that words as I am). They have changed their strategy completely.
